Mail.app not sending mail

Whenever I try to send mail in the mail up it starts sending then gets to some random %'age sits there for a few minutes and then gives up. I tried all the different settings and everything.

Then I installed Eudora and it sent fine. Whats going on here guys I would prefer to stick with Mail as it has a very nicve interface.

How many accounts did you have in mail.app? If you had more than 1 non- .mac account, did you have the same smtp-account for all (non-.mac) outgoing mail? If there are more than 1 smtp for outgoing mail, that might happen ... finding an account allowing also mail to go out from other accounts isn't allowed in all accounts, and then .mac - each .mac allows only the mail from that specific .mac account to be sent.
