Howdy all,
I am running Leopard and have two IMAP accounts set up in Mail.app. Both are set to use SSL for sending/receiving, and have the ports set as specified by the hosting site running the mail server. I am getting the "triangle error" with the error "An SSL error has occurred and a secure connection to the server cannot be made." and the connection doctor shows the "Cannot connect to this IMAP server. Check your network connection....". What's strange is that mail still gets through!
The settings are as follows:
I have already once accepted the certificate from the server, which is unsigned, and selected the "accept this always" option. However, I did not copy this onto my keychain, as I've seen recommended. Now, I don't see the certificate warnings anymore. Nothing looks too ominous in the full detail of the connection doctor output. I've tried deleting and re-adding the accounts.
So, I have several questions:
1) How can I get a log of what shows in the "Activity" window -- that seems like it could help.
2) How can I delete or see once again the certificates (they are not visible in my keychain access) so I can try moving them into the keychain appropriately?
3) Any other hints would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
=Dandre

Supported Incoming Mail Protocols: POP3, POP3S (SSL/TLS), IMAP, IMAPS (SSL/TLS)
Supported Outgoing Mail Protocols: SMTP, SMTPS (SSL/TLS)
