Mail attachments

When sending mail attachments with the OS X mail program attchaments are modified in a way that they appear to the repicent of the mail as three or more mime files. Is there a chance to get rid of that ?

... can you give us more details on this phenomenon?
nobody has ever reported this kind of thing happening to me, and i send attachments all the time through mail.app ...
maybe it has something to do with what you were sending or the app the recipient used ... ?
or even the account you're using, i know from experience that hotmail, for instance, does some weird stuff with attachments sometimes...

Are you using a dial-up service? This sounds like a modifacation at a gateway.
