I've been having this issue for what seems like years now...
One account I have often will get stuck sending, receiving, syncing - any one of these actions. It's like it can't connect to the server or is having some issue with the mail server. So if I open the Activity Viewer I can see those events trying to do something, but they never, NEVER finish. And if I click on the red stop sign, they will not shut down. When this happens basically no mail seems to come in, although other accounts will check mail on the viewer. Also in the Mail view itself, no new mail will show up and sometimes when switching between folders everything will just go blank.
When this happens the only solutions seems to be to force quit Mail and then restart it. Today, I have had to this already 5 times!!! Very annoying.
I put the troublesome account on the setting so that it doesn't automatically send/receive. I did that a long time ago as that seemed to help. But the fact is that every time I go to Inbox, it send/receives for all accounts. And hence it hangs all over again.
Does anyone know how to maybe fix this problem without having to deactivate the troublesome account and only use the online form for that account?
