Howdy
This has been happening a lot lately. I go into mail and read a new message, maybe reply to it too. And then apple+W and go about my work. Then i notice that i have new mail via the dock icon. So I go in to mail and as soon as the mailbox opens up it changes from 1 new message to zero. It seems that this message i read a few minutes ago becomes new again while my mailbox was in the background and when i brought it to the foreground it went back to the read state. 
Any clue what's going on here? It happens on both my work and home computer.
