mail not doing "Entire Message" search

I am no longer able to get Mail to do an "Entire Message" search. When I type a word in the Search box, the 'Entire Message' button appears "grayed out", and the only options available with All Mailboxes are From, To, and Subject. I did a Rebuild, I checked the settings in Preferences for searching Trash, Junk, Encrypted Messages (not that those should matter), I'm using a POP server, etc This seems to have just started since the 10.5.7 update.
