Mail Problems

I use mail everyday. But the window with the inbox and all that won't come up. I tried to quit out of the program using Command+Tab but it won't quit eith! What could I do?

Try deleting com.apple.mail.plist

I use a Comcast.Net email address. but it's working now... THanks to a power outage!
