Mail quits unexpectedly URGENT!

I have been having a big issue with my apple mail program. Since this morning, whenever I try to click on a unread email message in MAIL, it quits. When I reopen and try a different email message, it quits again. I tried deleting the Inbox.mbox file from the library and when I reopened Mail, the emails were still in there even thought I deleted the Inbox file. Please help! I am so frustrated and I need my emails for work. Thanks in advance.

You might have either a corrupt email or corrupt attachment that Mail is stuck on.

Go to Home>Library>Mail Downloads.
Trash everything in that folder and empty the trash.

Next: Go to Home>Library>Mail
Open the folder that starts with POP - your email (I am assuming it is a POP account, but IMAP will show the same folders.)
Click on the arrow next to Deleted messages.mbox so that it is pointing down and
showing the contents. Delete the Info.plist file.
Now open the folder Messages and delete everything in there.
Empty the trash.
In the same POP-your email folder click on the arrow next to INBOX.mbox and delete the Info.plist file. Empty the trash.

Now give Mail a try.
