OK need some experts here.
I am equiped with Toast (for OS X), VCDgear 1.6e and MPG files.
Here is my situation.
Half my MPGs go into toast without problems, they burn, I put them on my DVD player and they play fine!
The other half of my MPG files are not toast acceptable so I go to VCDGear (through the terminal since the GUI version is not ready yet) and I do an MPG to MPG conversion with a toast flag (make them toast compatible).
The above is the command I use to make magic. The above command generates an MPG file (duh!) and a resource file in the format of outputFile.rsrc. Toast does NOT accept this resource file when I drag it into it to make a VCD, it only accepts the MPG file. What do I do with this resource file ????????
In any case, I tried burning the VCD with the generated MPG which did make a valid VCD... however when I pop it into my DVD (the same one that played my other VCDs fine) the audio is great, however the video is garbled (and it only takes up the top 1/4th of teh screen, the rest of my TV screen is blank).
What is the matter ? anyone know???
Also, is there a way of making SVCDs on the mac? I want to experiment with various non DVD ways of making video (since I am getting a digital camera from work and my mac at work can do video editing thanks to FC express and iMovie) so I want to be in the know how

./VCDGear -mpg2mpg -toast inputFile.mpg outputFile.mpg
