Windows XP pro is slow on my iBook G3 500mhz 640MB of ram. I close the finder and all that and that kinda helps. But is there any tips on making it faster? I really just use it for my GPS I don't need it for anything else.
Did you turn off all those stupid effects on winxp? you need to call the system preferences and the last tab sais something about advanced settings or so. And you should find 3 options (if I recall right) one for best quality, one for user something and last for best performance. Clicking this makes your WinXP nearly look like Win2k but it should be much faster.
Also make sure to dedicate more ram for VirtualPC. And I think it is running faster in fullscreen mode.
Anyway, don't expect too much. It is running slow even on my tibook.
Win2k is quicker for me in VPC than XP was. You can also turn off many services in win2k that are taking up cpu. Go to the control panel in win2k/XP, then to administrative tools, then to services. From there you can turn off the "Messenger Service", Remote Registry Service, Themes services, automatic updating, windows time, task scheduler, fast user switching and secondary login.

VPC is just slow period. I have a G4 1ghz and it's slow w/ XP. I have to use it for Stamps.com. But, how that I have a Winblows box at my disposal, no need for VPC anymore.
Yup, here!
Works perfectly. Even when I use airport. Feel sorry I spent more than 100Euro on VPC..
But as far as I know, you can just use WinXP for remote logins. Anyway, if you have a pc with winXP, you just need to download the ms rdc (remote desktop client) which is freeware. Works really great. It's just a bit too slow for videos or games. But fast enough for everything else...
I love it when I see the windoze box running in a small window on my wonderful panther desktop. Somehow the right hierarchy, don't you think so? This is pure satisfaction
