many kind of Errors....i don't know what i can do to fix!!!!

my office machine - Mac G4 OS 9.2.2

prgrams: Pagemaker6.5 C & J / Illustrator 8 & 10

1) cannot print file with Text of Japanese & Chinese in Pagemaker!! (Only Numbers and English are printed)

**errors about....needed fonts had not been installed in my computer, but i confirmed i have the fonts!!!
**Tried to reinstall the software, still doesn't work!!

2) cannot print anything in Illustrator 10

3) launch OS crash, FWB tools error (i have been asking this question in the forum before, thx for Don)

**turn off the extension and re-launch successfully but since then found the following errors

4) scanner cannot be recongized but turned on~!!

**is there anywhere to check the scanner device if connected?? i checked the cable and power supply without problems.



Pleaseeeeee advice me what to do~!! thank you!!!

If it was my private machine, i will probably clean up everything.......but it's company's machine, i am afraid i cannot make any decision by my own!!

Plus, i have no colleague can help because i m in small company, only my boss is the one who is using Mac here......

i hate to say it, but it sounds like this mac needs a good deep clean that only a remormat and clean install can provide. if it only just started doing this, then there could be some corrupt files that will need to be trashed. the thing is its hard to figure out which ones without sitting in front of the mac.

some questions first, what g4 model do you have (cpu speed, ram, ect..)? have you ever printed in japanese and chinese before? are the fonts in the system font folder, or in the app's font folder? what kind of printer do you have (ie, do you need to install the fonts on the printer?) have you selected the correct printer in the chooser, and in page setup in the apps? did you only turn off the fwb extention, and not all 3rd party extentions (like the scanner driver)? what scanner do you have? how is the scanner connected, scsi, usb, or firewire? is there no it guy, or is that you right now?

answer these for me, and i'll pick my brain to try to figure out what is going on. if you are luck, then it might end up being simple.
