I have a Mac running on OSX 10.5.8 that refuses to keep drive mappings I set up maps to volumes on our Windows server. I set up the mapping by going to Finder->Go->Connect to server. I used the following syntax: SMB\\WINDOWS SERVER NAME\VOLUME. Then enter authentication and click the box to indicate I want the password saved to the keychain. We recently relocated users files to another server with more space.
When I create the new mapping, everything maps correctly to the new server. However on a reboot the new drive mappings go away and the old SMB mappings pointing to the old sever show up. I've rebooted several times and get the same results. Each time I put in the correct syntax, and hit the '+' to make sure the new mapping gets saved, I delete the old mapping and each time the old mapping returns and the new mapping is not there.
I also tried putting the new mapping in the login preferences(Preferences->Accounts->Login tap, so that the mapping will automatically show up on reboot. But when the machine gets rebooted, the text for the drive mapping disappears from there too.
Has anybody run into this problem??
