Media Player 7.1 won't start

My Media Player 7.1 for Mac suddenly won't start. The mouse icon just keeps showing it is processing but it won't appear.

The player used to work fine. I use it to play ASF and ASXs. It stopped working after one time it crashed after I opened too many players at once.

Somebody help please.

Sounds stupid replying to myself, but this if for anyone out there with the same problem.

I fixed the problem by deleting the windowsmediaprefernces file found in <home directory>/Library/Preferences/

llyrwy - welcome to macosx.com!! thanks for bothering to report your solution for others in the future. i don't use media player much so i had no idea where to start. m$ stuff always seems to be so unneccessarily complicated compared to other apps. plus i avoid using them and helping too much with them out of my own political stance against m$.
