Memory boost

OK I need an honest opinion here: I have a 800MHz G4 LCD iMac with 256MB RAM. I use programs like Final Cut Express and Photoshop. Now, I'm thinking of adding a 512MB RAM strip to add to total of 768MB RAM. The question I'm asking is, how much (guess) do you think I'll experience in terms of a performance boost. I know when I upgraded my PC from 64MB --> 320MB it certainly seemed like a new computer. Will I notice A LOT or not much?

You'll definitely notice an improvement using the programs you've mentioned. I would add as much as you can afford, up to 1GB.
