Memory usage increase

I just downloaded and installed memory usage getter and was checking the memory usage at intervals. It shows that the longer I have the computer on, the greater the memory usage becomes. It is even worse when I am browsing the net and appears that IE 5.xx increases the usage even more than other applications.
Has anyone seen this before? And, if so, is there a way to prevent this? Currently, I am restarting the computer whenever the usage becomes very high. Fortunately, I have a lot of RAM, so I have never used all of it yet. Any response would be helpful.

OSX caches application code in RAM to speed up the application launch time after it's been launched once.

You don't need to worry about running out of memory because OSX will purge memory if it needs to for other applications or system processes.

No problem. Theoretically, you shouldn't have to ever restart OSX, that is unless you install an iTunes update.
