Menu Bar problem

I'm using Tiger 10.4.1.1 on an Intel Mac and need to use X11.1.3 to open and run an open source program (Inkscape).

My problem is that when the program opens, it is hidden behind the X11 application menu at the top lefthand area of the menu bar.

When I open Inkscape before X11, it opens for a split second, , but is quickly hidden (too quick to click on it) behind the X11 menu. When I
open X11 first, Inkscape is already hidden.

It also seems to quit after a few seconds. When I open Apple/force quit it shows running briefly but quits.

Also, this program (Inkscape) seems to be used by lots of folks and appears to work well most of the time.

Could anyone show me how to change the position or remove the X11 from the bar (hiding it just closes the app and forces both it and the Inkscape program to quit. I haven't used command lines or development tools for quite a few years so please be gentle...

Thanks much

Any help would be appreciated.
