I like the last part of that article...they actually talked about "switching." :)

What's funny is that the worm actually hit Microsoft...even after they blamed people for not using the patch...LOL

That article mentioned that macs only suffer half the viruses that PCs do. I wonder what the percentage would be for macs that don't have any M$ software on them?

Virtually all new Mac viruses are actually cross-platform script viruses designed to exploit vulnerabilities in Microsoft Office.

Yes, I was to say... I haven't had a Mac virus in the past six years. Or I haven't noticed because they didn't actually work. :)

Must be because I don't use Office, I guess. ;)

MICROSOFT and VIRUS are 2 matching(linked) words :)

in order for one to be gone, the other also NEEDS to be destroyed

To date, there are 34 viruses that affect MacOS 9. None that I know of that effect MacOS X. The last one I can remember was the Quicktime Autostart virus that was a problem around 1994ish. This is discounting Microsoft Office Script viruses and viruses that might cause an issue if you are using Microsoft Outlook Express or Entourage.

On the PC, there is well in excess of 10,000 viruses.

The Macintosh platform is lucky that nobody has chosen to port viruses to our favorite OSes. Thankfully, we are mostly immune due to small market share. However, we are still vulnerable to the potential of viruses. Although I think we would see one for Linux before we see one for OS X.
