Microphone jack doesnt fit in my G4

Ok so i bought my dad a web cam for christmas, its said it works with mac g4 so i thought everything would be fine but when he tried it today he found that the jack doesnt fit in the microphone port but it fitted perfectly in the head phone port. Also it fitted fine in the microphone port of his G3 but he doesnt use it so thats no help but what im trying to figure out is, have the ports changed size between the G3 and G4. and if so is there a adapter that i can buy? or is there a web cam that i can buy that will work with it?

It sounds like you have the Quicksilver G4 tower. I'm pretty sure that it does not have a microphone port and you can get a Griffin iMic to add one and you can get it cheep on Amazon and eBay. You can also get a "No Name" very cheap here.
