Just bought this to work with my powerbook with latest updates on software. .

I can get this to work. ..better with Vuescan than the software provide by microtek....

How do I get Adobe Acrobat 7
to recognize my scanner directly.

Whether I plug the scanner in fire wire or usb
my computer doesn't recognize it without the software

Is that normal?


In any case. . can't get Acrobat to recognize it straightaway although I can scan to PDF thru vuescan

suggestions?

This is normal. I can only scan to file using VueScan and save it as pdf, tiff or jpg.
You can then just open the pdf file by clicking on it, or open Acrobar Reader and then open the pdf file from its saved location. Vuescan basic edition doesn't support scanning direct to a graphics program or even to Word. Twain-sane interface for OSX does, but it may not work for you.
