I'm trying to port some simple audio meters from Windows to OSX.
I'm new to OSX so I'm not too sure how its audio recording works.
The windows mixer allowed for recording from the "wave out" mix. Which ment I could monitor the currently playing audio and create a meter to respond to it.
I've looked into Core Audio, but am having trouble setting up the recording. It looks like I can only record from input devices (i.e. line in).
Can I solve this using audio units? Or are these only for creating audio filters.
