New information on the real key to Microsoft's New Millenium annihilation of competition: Palladium.

People need to get informed about this, get upset about this and start explaining it to their friends or it will sneak up on the teeming masses and squash Apple and the Linux community like a bug. Or just squash Linux and force Apple to become a member of the new Dark Monopoly. Which is worse? The legislation is already on the tables.

We've had one other thread about this. Some quotes:

Well, whatever they do, I don't see Apple following them. And then there's still Linux. Information wants to be free. Try to restrict it.

The only thing this technology will do is create a bifurcation among the PC mother board manufacturers...Even if it does become law, there will still be mother boards made that won't have the technology.

It's really funny that people are getting all worked up about this. It seems the board has forgotten that this Pandemonium or Pentragram or whatever this idiotic new security standard for computing is being created by Microsloth. When was the last time they made anything security related work?

Yeah right. Read Ross Anderson's new FAQ on TCPA/Palladium (posted Tuesday). It's now twice the length it was before and addresses all these false ideas and more. The more you read, the more interesting it gets. (Including how George Bush, if Bill Gates gave him the keys, could potentially use it to shutdown an entire nation's computing system if they went to war.)

People will eventually realize that this is a bad thing. But how deep into it will we be and how hard will it be to get out? How long ago will Apple have gone to the wayside (or the darkside)? Disagree?
