Hi,

I have an Apple Macbook, 160 GB, 2.2 ghz 2008 Model. It crashed 3 times in 3 years while i used it. This time i got to know that the mother board has crashed and was advised to go for a new one.

Is the Macbook worthless now?? i love Mac bu have been disheartened by my piece which has disappointed me thrice.

I need to know if i can still use any part of the Macbook which can be sold off? i am a student and short of cash to buy a new macbook. Please advise if i can sell some parts which can fetch me some money.

If it now crashes constantly, and would need a new logic board and that you can't afford, you can still use and sell the other parts.

- hard drive - definitely usable. you probably want to get an external small case for it to use it as an external drive.
- RAM - usable/sellable.
- display - usable/sellable
- keyboard or individual keys - you could see if anyone needs to buy some spare keys or the whole keyboard
- the whole body = upper and lower part, and keyboard = usable/sellable
- airport card and other components inside the machine (caution when opening) = usable/sellable
- optical drive = usable/sellable etc

So plenty of parts can be used again, or sold as spare parts. You can probably get a better price selling parts separately (as long as they are correctly taken apart, and packaged and sent in protective packaging).

But if it's only crashed 3 times total in 3 years, don't worry, just use it like you did.
