mouse clicking problem/ slowness

hi. OSX 10.4.3
g4 15"
i have toruble "grabbing" studd with my mouse. when i click, sometimes it takes up to 3 sec to acknowledge that i've grabbed something.
it's not about double-click speed, just about the computer running slow -- but the odd thing is, it only runs slow when it comes to this....
i have a kensington trackball, but when i disconnect it, i still have the problem witht he normal g4 trackpad...
i often have to try to grab something 2ce, going back after it failed to realize what i was trying to do

Dude, the problem is that you are usign a trackball mouse! Use optical mice and all your troubles will ge gone. plus the mac mice are low res and unresponsive.
