Stupid, I know, but I really needed to email some documents for work yesterday. Our router is broken, so I used an old usb modem my flat mate had hanging around.
Everything seemed to work ok, until this morning when I discovered my G4 PPC powerbook (still running 10.4 I'm afraid) thought my mouse was the modem! Subsequently, I've removed all the modem software and the drivers I can find, performed a software update, and run a disk repair, I even tried cleaning out /tmp just in case there was something loitering there. The mouse (a Belkin F8E836) has been tried in all usb ports (makes no difference) and tested in another machine (works no problem). Also tried another mouse, which worked fine.
Have to admit, this one has me stumped good and proper!
