Mouse troubles

I am running MAC OS 10.14 and my mouse will drag icons... if you try to drag an icon it opens that program. If you try to select multiple icons it opens them all, and it does this in all programs. The scroll arrows dont work well either. Everything works fine in classic, but not in OS X.
Any suggestions? Any one been in this predicament before?

Hrmm.... the only thing I can think of is that you have a PowerBook, or an iBook, and you've got your "trackpad" settings so that if you tap on the trackpad, it will click and/or drag. Might want to play around with those settings in your "System Preferences" in the "Mouse" section...
 
Nope.. i have a G-4 server and cannot figure out the difference between classic and OS X with this problem.
Please help!
