Something strange has happened to my Movies folder and I cannot figure out how to fix it. I first noticed a problem when I was looking for a .mpg file. I used Finder, File, Find to search for the file by name. The file appeared in the search window but when I click on it I got the broken alias error message. (The icon of the file does not have the alias arrow in the corner.) However, Quicklook from the context menu works.
I manually searched my directory hierarchy to see if I could find the file and could not. In this process I noticed that my "Movies" folder ie: /user directory/Movies also gave me the broken alias error message. I tried to fix this by selecting "Fix Alias", navigating to a Movie folder in /user directory/documents and I received an error message (An unexpected error occurred (error code -8060)) The Movie "alias" is now grayed out and OS X will not let me delete it.
Any idea what might be going on?
Thanks
