moving files

I am noticing on my mac that many files can not be cut and pasted in new locations? Do i always have to drag and drop them?

You can enable the "Cut" in Finder using Onyx or a Terminal command but there's no corresonding paste. Cut will move a file to the Trash which is very convenient though.

what is onyx? what is a terminal command? sorry im a mac newbie
