mp3 players

I've been researching mp3 players since January and I just can't wait to get one anymore. I need to make a decision. Of course, being a mac person, my first choice is an iPod but I can't afford one. I want 20G, and I'll use it for working out. I think I've narrowed it down to the Rio Riot (but it weighs 3 pounds!) and one 20G player from Creative...one of the Jukebox's...I forgot which model. Anyway, can anyone give me any advice? I've found both of those for $199 plus tax and warranty.

Thanks!

Well you will probably regret not getting the iPod. I'd spring 100 more and get an iPod.. 10 gig. I personally waited till I got my tax return to get the 15 gig one. I plan on using it in the gym as well.

Sorry thats probably not what you wanted to hear. I've seen people working out using that monstrosity from creative or whatever it is. They clunk it down on the floor when stretching because its too big to go anywhere else. haha

That's good to know...those big ones seem like they would be clunky. Yesterday I bought a Sony Minidisc player and an arm strap. I burned one minidisc, went to work out, and within 10 minutes, I went home because I was so frustrated and irritated with the whole thing!! I'm taking it back and taking another look at the ipods. I guess I can wait a little longer....but it also seems like Ipods get a lot of bad reviews....and bad customer service if something breaks....any experiences with that?

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

I've always had great customer service with Apple. I think you hear the bad ones because they seem to get all the attention. While in manufacturing there always are a few that fail most of them are just fine and have no problems. So I wouldn't be too worried with it.

As far as bad reviews I dont' know about that. The iPod has been awarded with praise all over especially in the music industry. It was recognized in Rolling Stone recently as a cultural icon status!

I'm waiting for an arm strap for mine. So far none available. Thats one thing I was kinda bummed about because there was one for the old style I was going to get but doesn't fit. I'm glad I didn't order it ahead of time though. But the iPod is so small it can go in your pocket anyway. I just want a little more protection.

Take a good look at the iPod. You won't be dissapointed. I just got mine yesterday and I just love it! I can't wait to use it while working out.

Take care.
