mpg123...problem creating buffer

Hi,
I got this version of mpg123 from FInk:

Version 0.59s-mh4 (2000/Oct/27)

I like it because it use few CPU, and on my G3 500 CPU is LIFE!
BUt it too often skip, every time there is a peak in CPU use, so i try to use the -b command to create a buffer, but when i try to make this with:

mpg123 -b 2000 -@ ~/Music/Playlist.m3u

i got this:

audio: Interrupted system call
WARNING: sound not availableusing device Built-in audio controller for output:

seem like mpg123 is working but it's not "sound"

any ideas?
 
I have not gotten the buffer to work on mpg123. I like it for it's command line functionality but if I'm doing stuff that will jolt the play I'm better off not using it.

(doesn't iTunes suck CPU power like it's going out of style?)
