MS Word docs launch iTunes -- what gives?

Although the icons for my word docs are correct, double-clicking them launches iTunes. Dragging and dropping onto MS Word circumvents the problem, as does opening directly from Word. Could it be because my Office 2001 is running in classic mode?

Assuming you're using OS X, select one of the docs (click on it once) and press command-I or select 'Get Info' from Finder's File menu. A small window will pop up. Click on the triangle to the left of 'Opens with' and change the application that opens that file type. It probably is set to iTunes for some reason.
