im setting up 5 websites for some people I am hosting for, i have 5 folders setup for them with the 5 sites mapped to them. Heres my goal:
To let each of the 5 users login via FTP and upload their site to their site folder, without seeing the other 4 folders. Right now i do not see how that is possible. I can get each of the 5 users to only see their folder, but in order to do that I have to setup the 'Everyone' access to None on each of the 5 folders and make the FTP user the owner. When that is set to none, not even web browsers can access the folder- gets Forbidden error. The ftp server is set to show 'FTP Root and Share Points', I do not want the home directory shown, cuz I dont want an entire home directory created in each of the folders as it is pointless since these users will never log into the OSX server, only FTP.
Secondly, what's the easiest way to setup FTP-only and Mail-only users and have them work in this manner? Where can I find some resources to show me how to setup hosting on OSX.3 G5? i've checked all the docs on Apple's site and they are not helpful...
