music event stream issues

Latest version of QT over here. Everytime I try it starts for a sec (you hear the people clapping and see the blue apple screen) then boom, beach ball of death.

Works for me every time. I've watched it on several occasions. Are you on high speed internet or dial up?

I had the same issue as rhale1 and ryanlang

Checking out the Apple forums, I found out that an old version of 3ivx was causing some issues.

When I removed 3ivx, all issues disappeared.

I also have the latest QT, but I don't have 3ivx. It could be b/c I'm only on dial-up (past webcasts have worked fine, thought).

I originally had problems and thought it was my dsl connection at work. Found out a preference in QT was not set correctly.

Qt preferences>connection>transport setup>transport protocol.

For some reason, my protocol was UDP. When I changed it to HTTP everything worked fine.

What is UDP anyway?
