Music Lib from PC to Mac

I've ordered an 14" iBook G4. I'm currently using an HP laptop running XP with SP2. I would like to move my music library from the HP to the iBook. There was a time I did not have to move the library; all I did was choose to see the hidden folders on the iPod and copied them onto the laptop and iTunes reorganised them for me. This time, I would have to re-format the iPod to work with the iBook. Therefore, the real questions are:
  • Will the iBook recognise the iPod as an external drive and therefore allow me to copy the hidden folders?
  • Is there a utility such as CopyPod that would allow me to copy the hidden folders on the iPod to the iBook before I format the iPod?
  • Is there such an option as viewing hidden folders in Mac?

Its far easier just to burn your entire collection to a few CDs or DVDs. Simple, efficient, and if you stuff up at any stage and accidentally wipe the collection, you'll still hae all your tracks backed up.

Another option is to transfer them across the network. Also very easy to do.

Yes, there are options that allow copying from the iPod, but these are unsupported. And allthough they may not be illegal, they are in breach of the product agreement for the iPod & iTunes, so we can't really recommend them.
