My Epson scanner wont work..file not found

This hsas happenned to me a couple times....I go to start my scanner up, and it says "Epson Scan To File program files not found, please reinstall"...even though I havent moved or deleted any files! I'll do it, and then a few days later, same thing. Anybody have any idea what I can do? It's an Epson CX3200.
 
Have you tried VueScan? I'm told it is a better driver/scanner program.

It doesn't support my scanner. I have to use classic for it. :(
 
yeah, I saw it last night on macupdate.com, but it's $40!!! no way am I paying that, I'd rather spend the 30 seconds to reinstall my scanner every time I use it (which isn't very often)
 
The object is to have the program there when you need it, rather than install it every time you need it. What connection to the computer are you using? Firewire or USB?
 
It's an Epson CX3200. It doesn't always give me trouble, just every once in a while. It did it a few days ago, so I turned off the printer, restarted the scanner software (with the scanner/printer turned off). This time, it gave me a message saying that the printer wasn't detected, and to make sure it was turned on. I turned it on, restarted the app, and it worked fine.
