my finder and trash wont open and everytime i open safari it asks for a password.

1. when i first startup my macbook the finder doesn't appear at the very top of the screen and my trash will not open as well.

i think this problem occured when i clicked force quit on finder and now i cannot retrieve finder. i am not a computer person so i don't know all the mac slang. any suggestions?

2. when i open safari it always asks for a password and anytime i search something it asks for the password again how do i turn this off?

Is Safari asking for a keychain password? That is usually the result of a password reset using the reset password utility with the install DVD then not trashing the contents of the library/keychains folder. When you speak of the finder not showing on top. I'm assuming you mean the menu bar is not showing at the top. Best thing to do at this point is to boot to your installer DVD and run disk repair in disk utility and post back to let us know if the repairs are successful or what kind of errors that cannot be fixed. Then after that try logging into a different user account (if there is one) on the machine to let us know if the problems are user specific.
