alexandr kosmonaut Dec 2, 2004 #1 the title says it all - have an iBook g3 800 with 128 MB built-in RAM.. can i go over the specs buying a 1GB-stick, or will it not be recognised? any way to get rid of the "non-removable" 128 MB, to get another slot, or is it really stuck? alex.

Cheryl Rosie Moderator Staff member Mod Dec 2, 2004 #2 Apple recommends 640 MB total. You can get a 512MB stick and be maxed. I'd leave the 128 in there.
