my homepage - thoughts? ideas? suggestions?

I think the site serve its purpose. Some clients are the type that are in a hurry. I couldn't think of any other way to showcase the work. Breaking your work down in category would be nice. **** out of *****

Oooop - I didn't see the flash site so I thought you were talking about the html site.

What is the purpose of your site? If it is a personal space to explore your thoughts and work, then the eventual design would work nicely. It works well, easy to navigate, and is appealing to the eye. If your sole purpose is to get work and in order to do so you want to dazzle people with past work then the temporary design works better. Drustar does have a good point. Maybe you could add a featured work section on your eventual homepage instead of showing a news section. It seems like you know php, so it would not be hard to add a dynamic featured work section. This way the user immediately can see the caliber of your work (that you have done for other people), which it seems to me, you would want to do. Just some thoughts...does look very nice though.

On the first one, the non-flash, you need to redo those meta tags ASAP. WAY TOO MANY in there for keywords, description, and title. You're asking for the engines to reject you by doing that. You also have alot of mixing of tags types on that page. Since you have a HTML 4 trans doctype, you should use the HTML 4 tags and not the XHTML tags. I know you said it's a temp thing, but good practices should prevail even then.

What exactly will flash be used for on the second, final, one?

Like the use of iFrames on the first one... I forgot about those... containing a frame in a table structure.

I agree about the meta tags... way too many! :)

The Flash site is designed well. I kind of want to see that boarder on the left continue all the way down, seems cutoff now.

Also, I like the way you listed your skills on your resume. I had something similar on mine. Don't care for the "Title" before each job experience listing though.
