My iPod is skipping!

I know that the iPod isn't supposed to skip, because it's a HD music player, but mine started a while ago. I'll be playing a song, and it'll skip, just for a second. It usually (to the best of my memory) happens in the beginning 20 or 30 seconds of the song. Is this because the file is loading into RAM, or what? Does anyone else have this issue, or is this abnormal? Thanks

Yeah, it's rare, but it happens. In the ten seconds that the hard disk was spinning, you probably shook it too much. I'm pleasantly surprised, though, by the longevity and durability of these things.

Does it always skip?
Or just for particular songs?

If its a particular song, do you know how large those files are? Is it possible the files are AIFF files?

Once, I switched the import settings to AIFF instead of mp3 (before itunes 4) - I found almost all my files skipping - turned out it was just files were so large that it would fill the RAM, and then re-spin up to load the RAM again.
