My mac won't chime after installing encor st 1.4ghz zif

Please help! The other day i installed a sonnet encore st/ G4 zif in my gigbat g4. It was originally one of the dual g4 models 500 mhz. The thing worked fine for about 20 minutes until i got that grey screen with the you must restart thing. I restarted it still worked so i went to the sonnet website to see if there was firmwar updates. I downloaded them but when I went to boot 9 to install them the thing froze. I wated 30 minutes and ended up hard restarting the thing but the thing is when i restarted the computer wouldn't boot. So i reinstalled the old processor and tried to boot up. I of course got the overheat message in 9 becuase i didn't have any heatsink grease to apply and it was in the middle of the snow storm and i had work that i had to get off the hdd. A lab report due the next morning. The thing is after all the firmare updates when the sonnet is installed and i try to boot mac os x the thing has no chime the sonnet fan comes on adn the powersupply fan comes on but no hard drive and no video. I have switched back to the old processor and did a propper install of that with the heatsink grease and what not but that was acting kinda funny too. And now that won't boot. Does anybody know what the heck is going on. Is the sonnet card faulty? or is there just some quirk where the card won't work with the dual architecture? Please HElp
