My mouse is dead

It's tuesday morning and 5 minutes till the bus leaves for school, I'm closing down with my computer stuff when the strangest thing happens. My Logitech Dual Optical mouse aparently freezes the Mac. I tried getting control by keyboard, but no can do. It's frozen.
Just cause it's my only idea I plug in an MicroSoft IntelliMouse Explorer Optical and I instantly re-gain control...but the Logitech mouse still won't affect the cursor. It does, however, give light when I press the buttons. I disconnect it while realizing there's 2 minutes left

So I run to the bus

Now I'm home. The Logitech has been disconnected since tuesday. I plug it in and get no effect at all. No light, not even when pressing the buttons...

I'm not talking cordless and battery here, I have an USB cable all the way between the Mac and the mouse...what the heck is the problem?

I had the same thing happen with a microsoft optical back about a year ago after having used it with no problems for about a year. Sorry to say it but your mouse is probably dead. Might have been a power surge, or a loose part but if its like mine it will never work again on any computer.

Since I didn't rape, drown, beat or in other ways abuse the mouse, am I entitled to a new one? I really liked that mouse...

I am not sure, check the warrenty if you still have it. Technical failure should be under warrenty and that is the most likely cause of your mouses demise.
