Need Converting Help Immediately! Need To Get Dvd To Quicktime! Read.

drunkmac

has a mac beyond repair
I apologize to anyone on the site who feels this is in the wrong forum but I need this answered ASAP.

I have an english project to do and I need to get scenes from DVDs into iMovie or Final Cut Express, etc. then shove em onto iDVD so I can get an A+.

When I had a PC, I could just pop a DVD in, make it a VCD (mpg) and hack and slash at that mpg file.

However now that I use a mac, I can only seem to convert my .VOB files into 2 seperate streams.

movie.mpg-0.m1v and movie.mpg-0.mp2 files.

This is a problem. Ive been reading about combining the two in some programs but none have worked and I havent had the time to learn Final Cut yet. I have Quicktime Pro but it doesnt really let me merge anything. Just export and stuff.

I have some varied converting utils. Some work. Some dont.

The project is due 25 hours from now and I took off classes today to do this and finish it. So please! Help me either get a DVD to .mov or at least to a single .mpg file for conversion or help me get my .VOB files to .mov or .mpg

My e-mail is vveneziani@mac.com and if youd like to help me, feel free to. Also my iChat AV screenname is Hardhouse0 but I dunno if thatll work.

HELP ME! If you have iChat AV and a camera for it, we can video conference to get this working together! I am willing to PAY TO GET THIS DONE!

Ahhh I just got handbrake an hour ago and it WILL solve my problem..unfortunately...not quickly enough!!!!

I think we're down to getting .VOB files to .MOV files is whats up. or .VOB to .MPG so let me know if anyone knows how!

Thanks very much for your help! It worked, but too slow unfortunately :(

I really appreciate it though. I broke down and bought a Dazzle DV bridge at my local apple store then returned it the next day heheheh
