OK heres what happened. My computer at startup wouldnt start it flashed a folder and a ?, everything that I knew how to do to fix it didnt work i was then able to reinstall the software wich dumped everything that i owned. Since then it crashed again and reinstallation was done. Is there anyway possible to retrieve any text files that were stored on the computer before the first crash? I had saved e-mails from AOL in text format on my HD and now need those for a legal battle. Please Someone Help Me Figure This Out!!

unless you did a zero whatever format, your files should still be there - only the directory should have been overwritten.
