Need Help With Entourage!

I'm a recent convert to the Mac world from the PC world. I'm having a bit of trouble with my Entourage.
I'm currently running Tiger and Entourage 2004 v11.1.0. It has worked beautifully until today. For some reason I'm unable to retrieve my emails from the mail server. The error I get is as follows:

Error
Unable to open that message.

Explanation:
Could not retrieve mail.
Account name: "My mail"


Error -16999


I've checked all the configuration settings and they are correct. All passwords and everything else is fine. However, I did notice one thing in Keychain. Last time I looked in Keychain the icons associated with the passwords for my email server were the purple entourage icons, however now they have changed to a blue @ symbol. I ran the keychain first aid, but that didn't help.
If anyone has a clue to what could be the problem, let me know.

To narrow down the problem, you might want to try creating a new Identity in Entourage. Enter all the pop/smtp settings, and see if you get the same error.

Error -16999
Solution: Try using account with secure password selected and not selected.

In the Account window, select "Click here for advanced receiving options button".
Toggle "Always use secure password"
Try to receive mail again.
