Need help with my powerbookG4...

Hi guys....hope you can help.
I have just ordered a G4 titanium powerbook to go along with my Cube. I live in Japan and even though the keybord layout is international I still get a Japanese OS. Can anyone explain how to erase the Japanese OS and install the English system. I want both OS 9 and X in there.
I did this 5-6 years ago with an old G3 but I just can't remember how I managed it:(

Appreciate any help...thanks in advance

Easy.

All you need to do is re-install the os. OR, re-install a language package. If your computer came with a Mac OS X install cd, yo are set - just boot up with that and you'll figure it out. Heck, you don't even have to reformat - just install the English right over it.

However, its more likely that your PB did not come with an official Mac OS X install cd. Which means it could be more tricky. Since you obviously have a license to the OS, you could just bum a cd off of someone else via the internet or word of mouth. Also, contacting Apple Computer may do the trick:

Hope you get it to do some English!

Actually, you may not have to do any of this!

Login to osx, click "System Preferences" (which is in the dock). Press "International" You will see a list of languages. If yours isn't there, press 'Edit...' and select it. Then drag your language to the top of the list.

I think os9 has a similar function in the control panels but I do not remember where it is.

Cheers, post if that did it ok?
