Need help with OSX Mail program

I have removed my mail boxes in an attempt to troubleshoot some problems I was having with sending outgoing mail. I fixed the problem by re-adding the account with different settings, but I cannot find where these mailboxes(and the data contained within them) so that I can import these mailboxes and retrieve the messages.

Where did you put the mailboxes when you removed them? Did you change their location as folders (from finder)? > if so, just search in Finder, and drag the mailboxes to the Mail program, it will recognize what to do with it.
