Netgear router problems

I wonder if anyone can help me with a problem I'm having with my netgear ADSL router.

It works fine wirelessly but as soon as I plug connect a computer via ethernet it seems to lose the connection. It has worked fine before but I have recently repositioned it, on a new socket that I've installed.

Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions?

What model of router is it. I have a NetGear DG834GT and it works great with my Mac but, I also have a NetGear WGE111 which is garbage. Try resetting your router to the factory defaults. If that doesn't work submit a query to NetGear. I have always found doing this to be helpful.
