I have a few machines here at home all with their own static IP addresses. To make these easier to access I assigned names to these machines to the /machines/ branc of NetInfo Manager.
As I mentioned in another thread, that, unlike DNS, NetInfo Manager is case sensitive. Consequnetly the entry I made for MacG3.myhost.com can not be accessed as macg3.myhost.com.
The issues I stumbled across as a result was that Netscape 6.2 seems to treat all hostnames entered into the location bar as lower case. I typed in "MacG3.myhost.com" and it insisted that "macg3.myhost.com" did not exist. As soon as I added a lower case version of the name to NetInfo Manger, Netscape was happy.
The conversion of host names to lower case is a bug right?
