Network Configuration Problem

I've got following network setup:

WinXP Pro -- Epson Stylus Photo Printer
|
Switch -- Cablemodem
|
Airport -- PowerBook with OS 10.3.3

I want to exchange files between the two computers and use the printer connected to the windows pc from my PowerBook.

Problem: If I open up the Network Browser I can see the folder with the correct Network Name "LOTTERNETZ" and inside I have my PowerBook's harddisk. The WinXP PC ("DOSE") isn't shown, though.
I can connect fine to my PC using "Connect to server..." and "smb://<IP>" and some time after I do that, an orphaned Alias "DOSE" appears inside "LOTTERNETZ".
If I want to setup the printer, I can't see the PC in the printer setup utility (when I select "Windows Printer" and "LOTTERNETZ"). After I mount a paritition from the PC (using "Connect to server...") the PC appears in this list but I can't connect to it (it asks me for my password but fails on whatever I enter [Error: 256]).
(The PC might also appear without mounting anything from it before. Haven't tested that though, since it takes a lot of time).

What could be misconfigured (on the mac/pc)?
I tried to add the printer manually but didn't succeed so far.

Problem solved!
I suspected it to be something like this: I had the service called "Routing and RAS" disabled on my WinXP computer. Don't ask my why. ^_^'
Now my PC gets displayed correctly in the workgroup folder and I was able to add the printer notmally through the printer setup utility. \^_^/

Note: It's possible to use domain names when using "Connect to server..." in the finder but it seems like samba doesn't like this. I could connect to the printer using the IP of my PC but got en error (NT_STATUS_DUPLICATE_NAME) when I tried to use my dynamic domain.
