Network is locked

Some months ago I networked the two Mac G4s in my home. My connection to the Internet is via Cable and an Airport Extreme Base Station. Everything worked just fine until yesterday morning, when I was unable to connect to the Internet.

When I click on the network icon and select my network (which show the padlock icon), the system asks for a WEP password. When I supply it, the connection times out. It seems clear to me the problem is that the network is locked. But how can I unlock it?

I'm running OS X 10.5.6 on my primary Mac (which has dual 1.2 Mhz processors) and OS X 10.3.9 (which has a 466 Mhz processor) on the other.
