I am setting up my G5 in a remote studio with thick walls to connect to the internet via ethernet using Powerline Ethernet plugs.
My Macbook Pro works fine but the G5 will not allow me to alter or atomatically assign the IP address.
My broadband is through a local Wireless system attached to the roof. I wish to keep a Airport network working for inside the house but have the G5 use this ethernet network.
How can I make it work.
In Network, the Ethernet 1 is orange and Self assigned IP grey
Connected reads:
Ethernet 1 has a self assigned IP address and will not be able to connect to the Internet
